Today we bring you some highlights from last month at Quinta da Bouça, some images shared on Instagram or Facebook, with some special visits – human and non-human … wink
Check it out:
In mid-June, the Sun was here to stay, finally – a little shy at first, but then the temperatures start to rise more and more. In our records we got to 37º C!
While the first lucky guests were using the new pools, we began to pick fresh lettuces and courgettes. Summer flowers began to bloom, like the agapanthus.
At this time of the year, in Portugal, there are many small and large parties and celebrations, almost all related to the popular / folk saints such as St. John and St. Anthony. But not only that – many municipalities or parishes take the opportunity to organize local festivals and animations, while many Portuguese families gather during the holidays.
This last month, we decided to highlight the Tongobriga Roman Market and the European Championships won by Portugal – football, athletics, canoeing and roller hockey! (Are we forgetting any championship?) Our simple tribute was made with the colors of our flag in pots bigsmile
We received congratulations through messages and calls from recent guests – the Portuguese athletes are among the best in Europe and our guests are the best in the world!
Very recently, we had the great pleasure of welcoming at Quinta da Bouça, Susana Ribeiro, journalist and travel blogger, from Viaje Comigo website. She stayed at Casa do Sobreiro and shared already some of the images made here.
Around the same time, our camera captured this old fox walking in the evening at ease by our property smile

Last but not least, mid-July, we were surprised with this drawing in one of our guest books. All messages are special, but this was quite unique – isn’t it great?

Well, for the second part of this Summer, we are very much looking forward – what will the future guests think about their stays? Which new animal will we surprise with our motion-activated-camera? What to expect more from our vegetable garden? And… what about the Portuguese atheletes’ performances at the next Olympics???…
We can’t wait!
